A Summer of Guest Preachers
“Friends from the Ends of the Earth”
All Saints Anglican Church Algarve - Zoom Service
On July 27th Rev’d Mike and Linda Clarkson stepped aboard a Plane en- route for a long overdue extended visit to their family on the West Coast of America.
Long before they left however, Rev’d Mike and Warden Janet Martin were working hard to provide the Zoom Congregation with Guest Preachers for the Summer. These Guest Preachers will be joining us from all over the Globe to either Minister Live on the Zoom platform or for those in far flung places like the USA or New Zealand to record a Sermon especially for All Saints. This group of highly respected Ministers are affectionately known as “Friends from the Ends of The Earth” and we look forward to meeting them and listening to their word as the weeks of Summer unfold.
The season of Guest Preachers starts this coming Sunday – August 8th
August 8th & August 29th, we will be joined in a live link by Melissa Jones in North Carolina.
Melissa will be leading us in a Service of Traditional Morning Prayer
August 15th we will be joined by Canon Andrew Wingfield Digby
Who has the unusual distinction of playing first class cricket and working as vicar of a Church of England parish. He is known as someone who teaches the Bible in an entertaining way and on August 15th we are looking forward to hearing him preach.
August 22nd The Rev’d Bruce Goodwin will be our guest preacher. Rev’d Bruce is Parish Priest at a family Friendly Church in Bristol currently promoting an ALPHA course starting soon on their web site.
In September we will be joined by Ian Bentley who has recently completed an interregnum appointment in the Cotswolds. Some of you may remember Ian as he locumed for us a few years ago, He and Ruth have very graciously agreed to Minister to All Saints for 6 weeks from September 12th and we look forward to his time among us. But more of that in the next newsletter.
These guest Preachers, together with our home-grown talent of Lay Reader Terry Moore and graduate of the Sermon Training Course, Colin Packer, will ensure that All Saints Anglican Church is on course for a lively, innovative and spirit led Summer in the Algarve.
